Bites of My Life

bites-51.jpg
I'm baaaaack. We are all moved and working on getting settled in our new house. I had a friend tell me last week that she did not like the fact that I was taking a few days off from the blog. She said didn't know what to do without Take a bite in her life! Bailey, if you're reading, I'll do my best to make sure it doesn't happen again! But know that it totally made my day to hear you care so much about my posts!
Last week was the official start of summer! I have two weeks to do nothing as well as do a ton to get ready to move to DC. I'm savoring this time of having a full kitchen to myself, so expect a lot of foodgrams and recipes posts coming up!
-Running out of class because it's officially summer!!!
-I found this new caramel macchiato flavor of Dannon greek yogurt and was very intrigued. Tried it, didn't love it.
-It wasn't much of a welcome home when I come in to find a room full of boxes.
-Two days later my little room was completely empty. I should be sad, but I'm not. For being such a traditionalist, I'm loving the new adventure of my parents moving to a new house.
-Had to make a trip back to Norman to celebrate two of my favorite, now, 21 year olds!
-We have an abundance of mint at our new house, so I made my favorite salad for lunch on Saturday with mint instead of basil.
-A delicious and easy side dish composed of eggplant, pine nuts, basil, balsamic and feta! Be looking for this recipe coming up.
-Any holiday should be celebrated with cake, so I made a four-layer coconut cake with swiss meringue buttercream frosting for my momma! P.s. I love the way food photographs on our new marble countertops.
-Some of the components for our brussels sprout salad we had with dinner on Sunday night.

Blog Break

Things are a little busy around here. Like I mentioned before the Tucker's are moving! Tomorrow we will break out of the suburbs and make the big move to Oklahoma City. Since I finished school on Monday, my days have been filled with packing and been surrounded with boxes.

Please pardon my little break from the blog while we get moved and settled! The next few weeks are a little crazy so my posts may be sporadic. I promise I'll be back next Monday with a regular bites post!

Bites of My Life

It's suuuummmmmerrrrrr! Well almost, I have to sit through a few more class presentations then I'm homebound this evening. It hasn't quite set in that Junior year is over.
Last week was a successful week when it came to savoring every last day of the year. Once I got through my final tests; I had my last day at work, watched the Thunder win game 7, started packing my room in Kappa, said a few goodbyes and ended the weekend outside with some of my best friends and a big pizza while we reminisced on Junior year.
-Loving all the goodies in my Graze Box and loving that so many of you are now ordering your own box and using my friend code (ANNIET9RP).
-Tuesday was my last day at The Social Club. It was so sad saying bye to the best job I had over the past year.
-A sneak peek at my cutie house for senior year. I find myself taking the long way home just so I can drive by it.
-Only a few days left with my amazing big sis before she graduates. We've had a good run the past three years.
-Big Truck Tacos was the perfect pre-game meal before game 7.
-Greeted with more Thunder love when we walked out of the game on Saturday. Can't wait for playoffs round 2 to start tonight.
-The before and after shots of our Sunday night pizza. With the year coming to the end I was more than willing to help clean out my friend's fridge. Olive oil, truffle oil, marinara, parmesan, feta, white cheddar, banana peppers, tomatoes, turkey pepperonis and pesto all got piled on our whole wheat crust. Basically everything but the kitchen sink.

Anything But Studying

It's finals week for most people. I can't help but brag that I finished school yesterday, but for everyone still chugging along, I am giving you some study distractions today!
We all know finals week is really just a time to find any excuse not to study. Here is a list of random things I've found, want to buy, want to eat and want to listen to. Take a quick break, then get back at it because it's almost summer!

I want to make this and these.
Apparently I should dress like I'm from the 20's
Brit+Co gives you ideas on how to celebrate Cinco De Mayo with this fringe backdrop, no-bake margarita cheesecake and 20 different taco recipes.
