What I'm Listening To: Anthropologie on Spotify

I recently discovered Anthropologie on Spotify. Their playlists are just as whimsical and unique as the products in their store. I first found the "Merry-Making Playlist" that has a collection of the best Christmas songs. My other favorite playlist is "Turkey to Table." I can't wait to have it playing throughout the house next week as we prepare our Thanksgiving feast! They also have different "Sounds of the Season" playlists with songs representing each season.

Follow Anthropologie and check out some of their other playlists!

Bites of My Life

bites-27.jpg
It was rough having to come back to reality last week after being in New York. I came back and immediately had to study for a test I had the next day. I luckily was caught up on everything before I left, but it was still a busy week as the semester is starting to wind down.
One of the highlights from last week was a lunch with all my best friends from high school! We all go to school together but are so busy with our own schedules we all hadn't gotten together in months! It was also Dad's weekend, so I had a blast hanging out with my dad and all my friends dads!
My cameral roll was pretty empty from last week, so I threw in a couple bites I found on Pinterest last week.
-More beanie inspiration! I got lot's of love/hate comments on the whole beanie trend.
-Spent our last home game with my best friends!
-I'm starting to plan out my holiday baking. This pomegranate bark is definitely on the list.
-A little encouragement.
-Dinner with dad before we lost all our money at the casino over dad's weekend.
-Sunday night s'mores and celebrating a friend's 21st!
-Cracking fresh picked pecans from my friend's backyard.
-I get so giddy about christmas I'm not only planning out my baking but also how I'm going to wrap my presents!
Only a week till thanksgiving then a few weeks until the semester is over! So much to do and pack in before we leave for break!

High Low Dressing

While in New York we met with some of the editors at Lucky magazine, but had no idea that the Editor-in-chief, miss Eva Chen herself would be making an appearance. We were doing our standard Q&A with a great group of Lucky editors when all of a sudden Eva and her assistant walked into the room. Eva used to work for Anna Wintour at Teen Vogue, but was recently appointed Editor in Chief of Lucky at the end of the summer.
She was so casual and normal as she plopped down at the end of the table and started chatting with our group. She gave great advice about working hard and staying focused on what you want to achieve.
Along with her great advice, I couldn't help but notice her amazing outfit. She had the best blush colored fuzzy turtleneck on paired with distressed winter white jeans and the most fabulous Chanel heels. She was so down to earth and mentioned how she loves to "high low" dress by wearing amazing designer heels with ripped up jeans from Zara or H&M. Mixing and matching is key!
After the meeting we were like little kids following her on Instagram and tweeting at her repeatedly at how amazing she was. Later in the day she actually Instagrammed her #ootd with links to the pieces she had on, which showed off her high low style. Eva mixed a Celine clutch, Areopostle beanie, Paige jeans, Chanel heels and This is Whistles sweater.
Here is my recreation of Eva's outift!

While shopping in soho the next day I was personally on the hunt for a similar sweater and came across this one at Forever 21. I snatched it up real quick so I could channel my inner Eva Chen. Now if only I had those Chanel heels...

Dare to Flare

Another favorite trend being talked about today. Step aside skinnies, flares are coming through. I searched all last fall for the perfect pair of dark wash flare jeans, but continued to strike out. I finally found a great pair of Paige's this year and I love them.
Flares make your legs look extra long and instantly spice up an outfit unlike a pair of regular skinny jeans do.
I like to pair mine with structured jackets and blouses or sweaters that hit right at the waist line.
Too long of tops make you look like a big flowy mess.

Of course a beanie looks great with a pair of flares.
I recently purchased these crimson Free People bell bottoms. Don't be scared of wide legs in a bold color!

Beanie Baby

My friends from my New York trip are about to make fun of me for this post. I discovered a love for beanies while in New York. People there throw them on with anything to make there beanie fashionable. Even the most boyish beanie suddenly looks chic when paired with leather leggings, an oversized chunky sweater and booties.
I was a little ahead of the game and bought one a few months ago and finally broke it out while we were shopping around Soho on Saturday. I then proceeded to buy two more. The beanie didn't leave my head for the next 24 hours. A huge cold front blew in this morning so you can bet I am wearing my beanie today.
I'm not crazy to have a love for beanies, they are showing up everywhere.

Here are some of my favorites and recent purchases.

I bought 1. and 5. (in gray) in New York and brought 4. with me! What's your opinion on beanies? Do you love them as much as me?
